Freedom of speech and expression and the freedom to practise any profession through the internet are constitutionally protected under Articles 19(1)(a) and 19(1)(g). An indefinite internet shutdown is impermissible. Orders restricting internet must be published. Any restriction must be temporary, proportionate, and subject to judicial review. Section 144 CrPC cannot be used to suppress legitimate expression.
